Variables
If you want to compare conversations, or export clean numbers for research, you need to decide up front what you're measuring.
A variable is one dimension you want scored — a 1–5 scale, a yes/no, or a set of choices. Analysis later reads each conversation against your variables and fills in a value for each one.
1
Your variables
Each variable has a short name, a machine-readable key (used in exports), and a type.

2
Choose a value type
Scale, binary, trinary, a free numeric range, or a fixed list of choices — pick whichever matches how you'll actually judge the answer.
